Wellbeing Sessions

Body Temenos for Women

Body temenos sessions are designed to meet your individual health needs in the following areas: emotional wellbeing, physical health, hormonal balance or pregnancy and post-natal support.

Each session is tailored to relieve specific symptoms and to return the body to a state of balance. At the end of the appointment you will be given a personalised programme that is easy to implement at home, so that the benefits of the session can be maintained. A series of sessions is recommended so that your programme can be reviewed, and to allow the practices to become embodied into your daily life. Sessions can be scheduled weekly, every two weeks or monthly.

Before your first session you will be asked to complete a diet and lifestyle questionnaire which you will need to complete and return to Julia before your first appointment. This will ensure the session fully meets your health needs.  Although these appointments include nutrition advice, the foundation of the appointment is yoga. If you want a full hour to discuss nutrition, or to discuss functional tests, then a nutrition consultation is available.

Emotional Wellbeing

Anxiety / Stress / Overwhelm / Low Self-Esteem

These sessions offer practices to reduce stress and overwhelm and to support you through life’s challenges. We explore how placing the body in certain yoga positions can have a naturally calming effect on the body and mind.

This restful state is further enhanced by breathing exercises to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, meditation, the use of mantra and reiki. A suggested daily practice is given so that this restfulness can be accessed at home, as well as diet and supplement advice to support the adrenal glands and nervous system.

These sessions offer womb-centered yoga practices that increase blood flow to the pelvic organs to support healthy menstruation, as well as nourishing the nervous and endocrine system. The practices are both relaxing and energizing and include postures, breathing exercises, simple meditations and mantra.  Individual sessions are tailored to meet your specific needs including regulating menstruation, reducing PMT symptoms, smooth transitioning through menopause, increasing energy and supporting fertility. A personalised daily practice is given so that you can continue to support your cycle at home, together with hormone-specific diet and supplement advice.

Pregnancy sessions are focused on empowering mothers through each trimester and childbirth by learning flowing womb-centered movements, breathing exercises, sound and relaxation techniques. The practices are tailored to meet the needs of the mother, including to relieve anxiety, improve sleep, energise, regulated digestion, reduce back ache and pelvic girdle pain, as well as preparing the body for natural childbirth. Specific support on yoga for active birth is also available.  A simple daily practice is given to support your pregnancy wellness at home, as well as diet and supplement advice for your specific health needs.

Post-natal sessions offer a deeply restorative yoga practice to close the body and encourage deep rest and relaxation. We work with gentle movement and the use of the breath to tone and strengthen the inner muscle of the abdomen and pelvic floor.  This is combined with ‘walking around’ meditations and mantra that you can easily incorporate whilst with your baby. Specific practices are offered to mothers who need support to relieve anxiety, improve sleep, energise, help with split-rectus abdominis muscles, insufficient lactation, pelvic floor and prolapse support.  A simple daily practice is given so that you can continue to nurture yourself at home, as well as specific post-natal diet and supplement advice.
